artist statement

I am material; an architectural body. My work is a rendering of my experiences- treating my body as if it were my forever home. My arms build the walls, eyes and ears the windows, and in my chest sits an entrance. I sculpt, sew, assemble, collage, and paint to create convergence between body and building.

I hold space for my transgender and non-binary experiences, embracing fluidity and non-conformity. I create psychological landscapes, ripping pages from my journal entries and using expressive, sometimes explosive brushwork. Collections of discarded objects get glued onto paintings, progress reports peek through empty birth control packets, love letters are plastered onto photos. These works are complex, layered, and confrontational. I am my home and my best thing, my body of work is my memoir.
